Nantlle Ridge 3D Map

1. We start this Nantlle Ridge circular walk by parking at the west end of lake Llyn Nantile Uchaf. Spaces are very limited but it’s usually nice and quiet mid-week. The initial stretch of the walk is eastwards down the valley from here, along a farmers track with the lake on our left.

2. The “real path” for Y Garn comes up from the west side, but it’s possible to hop a couple of fences and enjoy a leg burning off trail ascent from the east. Y Garn has a pretty distinct shape, so it’s easy to keep the summit in eye sight. Views of Snowdon from Y Garn’s summit can be fantastic on the right day for weather.

3. From Y Garn the trail takes a clear south west direction, taking in the summits of Drws Y Coed, Trum y Ddysgl & Tal Y Mignedd, with big drops on the right hand side nearly all the way along. There’s a little down and up to do before heading up final summit Craig Cwm Silyn.

4. Again keeping the drops on our right, it’s easy to navigate down past the beautiful lake Llynnau Cwm Silyn and follow the trails back to the start.
